Do you need supplements?

Actually, this is a common question that I get. If a client writes me and inquires what supplements I think they should take, I’ll usually respond with this:
What Supplements Should I Take
My opinion is that really don’t have to take any supplements.
You don’t need to read that twice. You got it the very first time. You don’t need supplements to build muscle, or lose weight. Actually, these things do not make a difference in bodybuilding. They’re particularly ineffective if you’re not training properly and meticulously listening to your diet.
If you’re not training properly, and don’t have your daily diet in order, then I’d suggest simply giving up on supplements. They’ll be a waste of your time and money. Once you’ve learned everything else, only then should you even consider using a supplement. Still, they’re not necessary, and they’re not a quick fix. You will not have any results from it.
What Supplements Should I Take?
That said, I am not averse to supplements. If used the right way, they can transform your performance and subsequently, your results. With this, it is simple to ‘level up’ with your weights. They have the capability of decreasing your recovery time. Plus, it can be a great way to supplement your diet. Regardless of how healthy your diet are, at times the nutrients you get from it may not be enough.
Once again, supplements should be considered the icing on the cake. It will offer you great recovery only if what you are doing your share.
Fortunately (for your wallets sake), there aren’t many supplements that I’d recommend, even under the best of circumstances. My chosen ones are given below. I’ll make recommendations based on research, and of my own historical experiences with them. Let’s get to it.
Multivitamins
Consider this as reassurance. A multivitamin will fill out any gaps and an absence of your diet so you can rest your head a night knowing that you’re not missing any vital nutrients that will help your body build muscle. It has been said that some substances in your multivitamins contain zinc for muscle recovery and ascorbic acid for immunity.
Tip: It is advisable to take vitamins right after your workout because it can dispose any free radicals that the body produced during the workout.
Whey Protein
For people who only want to take one supplement, the most recommended one is whey protein. This is because it is very useful.
Protein is necessary to build lean muscle mass. You ought to get around 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. Since you cannot without difficulty achieve this with the use of diet, then drinking whey protein can be a fantastic alternative. I personally use Prograde’s protein powder, as it’s generally regarded as the highest grade protein, has a great quality control process (the same thing can’t be said for most supplement companies), and is a good price.
Creatine
I’ve heard that this is one of highly researched performance enhancing supplement. Now, almost all bodybuilders are using this. What Good Can it give? A little better recovery between sets and workouts, and overall better effectiveness and strength because of this. I myself avoid the use of creatine, although I have tried it. However, I have not thought any changes when I took it. However, this is not what other people are stating. Discover for yourself if it will be useful for you.
That’s all I must say. Only three supplements out of the a whole bunch out there made this list. The vast majority are junk. Supplements are not approved by or tested by the FDA, so they are liable to no one. That is the exact reason why they have no effect. Do your research and stop squandering your money.
